News & Updates

The wait is over. Our outdoor jacuzzis open on 30 June!

We are delighted to share that the outdoor jacuzzis at The Astrium will officially open on Tuesday, 30 June 2026!

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we worked closely with the authorities to complete the necessary approvals. Your enthusiasm and excitement have been greatly appreciated, and we look forward to welcoming you to enjoy this upgraded wellness facility.

A new chapter begins at the astrium (formerly recreation complex)

We are delighted to share that a vibrant new chapter is unfolding at The Astrium, with the opening of exciting new facilities designed to elevate your club experience.

From 11 May, we proudly welcome Meridian—our newest dining destination featuring a thoughtfully curated Western–Japanese fusion menu. Expect a refreshed, elevated culinary experience, complemented by a selection of beverages and live music, bringing back the lively atmosphere many of you have come to enjoy at 3Bars.

Also opening on 11 May is Spectrum, a family-friendly karaoke destination perfect for gatherings and celebrations. With seven cosy private rooms and a high-quality sound system, it promises fun-filled moments and unforgettable memories for members of all ages.

For our sports enthusiasts, pickleball bookings at Stellar Grand (formerly Grand Ballroom) will commence on 4 May. This pillarless multi-function space is the first in Singapore’s social clubs to feature a dynamic LED floor—designed to inject energy and excitement into every game and event.

We look forward to welcoming you to experience these new offerings at The Astrium. Thank you for your continued support, and we can’t wait for you to explore what’s in store.

Farewell to 3bars – welcoming a new dining experience

3Bars has been a cherished space for us to gather, unwind, and create lasting memories. We thank you for your unwavering support for 3Bars all these years. The last day of operation will be 18 April 2026. But as the saying goes…all good things must come to an end — to make way for better things!

Come mid-May, we will continue the 3Bars tradition in our new restaurant, Meridian, which will open at Level 1 of The Astrium (the former Recreation Complex).

Meridian will feature a thoughtfully curated Western–Japanese fusion menu that offers a refreshed, elevated dining experience. It will also serve alcohol and live music, which we’ve all come to enjoy at 3Bars.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Meridian.

Thank you once again for your understanding and continued support. Cheers to new beginnings!

A home guided by stars: the story behind our upgraded recreation complex

At the heart of the club’s transformation is the vision to be a home away from home. The upgraded recreation complex is built on a celestial theme that symbolises light, guidance, and harmony. Just as stars have guided travellers, this concept reflects the club’s role as a constant, welcoming presence for its members. It brings together heritage and modernity, creating a space that feels both elevated and familiar.

A home guided by stars: the story behind our upgraded recreation complex

Each facility within the recreation complex has been carefully named to reflect its purpose while staying true to the celestial narrative.

The Astrium – the name for the new recreation complex

The word “Astrium” is a combination of two words, i.e., astra from the plural of the Latin word astrum, and -ium, which is a common Latin suffix used in English to denote a place or a structure. The Astrium, derived from “astra” (stars), evokes a grand, open gathering space inspired by the sky—a place where members come together under a unifying vision.

Meridian – the restaurant and bar

Inspired by the line of longitude where worlds meet, The Meridian represents the harmony of East and West. As a dining destination and a bar, it reflects a balance of flavours and cultures in a refined, relaxed setting.

Stellar Grand – the grand ballroom

Designed as the club’s premier event space, The Stellar Grand draws inspiration from the brilliance of a star-filled sky. With its immersive LED features and transformative capabilities, it offers a dynamic setting where celebrations unfold under a canopy of light — grand, memorable, and ever-changing.

Spectrum Lounge – the KTV Hall and Private Rooms

A spectrum is a unified band of light that reflects this space as a lively gathering point. Its rooms — Glow, Shine, Aura, Ray, Beam, Lumin, and Nova — invite members to step into the spotlight and express themselves.

A Unified Experience

Through this carefully considered concept and naming approach, every space within the Astrium is a ‘star’ in its own right, and together, they all create a larger story for CSC family — one that celebrates connection, discovery, and belonging.

Come Chill & Relax…

What are you waiting for? Our newly renovated pool deck is ready for lazy days and chill days. And waiting for you! Relax under new pool umbrellas, unwind in our cosy cabanas, or gently sway on our inviting swing chairs while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. Don’t delay – come chill and laze the whole day long.

Get ready to splash! Kingfisher cove opens 14 march

Many of you have been eagerly awaiting the return of the Fun Pool, now renamed Kingfisher Cove.

The wait is finally over!

We are delighted to share that the soft opening will happen this Saturday, 14 March 2026.

Members will recall that the Kingfisher Cove refresh is part of a bigger transformation project by the club to ensure that our activities and facilities cater to as many members as possible. Eventually, we want our club to be a home away from home for all of you!

That is why the club has made every effort to open the Kingfisher Cove in time for the March school holidays, when children can look forward to cooling off from the heat while burning off plenty of energy.

The new pool pays homage to the kingfishers frequently spotted along the East Coast and around our Club grounds, a small but meaningful tribute to the natural beauty that surrounds us.

Designed with families in mind, the area features slides and playful features, all set within a shallow, family-friendly environment. The space includes both a wet and a dry playground, offering plenty of fun for children from 5 to 12 years old.

At the heart of Kingfisher Cove stands the centre-piece: the kingfisher statue in vibrant blue and yellow, welcoming families into this lively and colourful play area.

The dry playground features a slide, net swings where children can sit and swing freely, two in-ground trampolines, and climbing ropes for adventurous little climbers.

The wet playground offers two slides. One is designed for younger children, while the other is an exciting tube slide that promises a more thrilling ride and is sure to become a highlight of Kingfisher Cove. Another crowd favourite is the water tipping nest, which slowly fills to the brim before dramatically tipping over, sending splashes of water down to the delight of children below.

So… get ready to splash, relax, and enjoy the refreshed fun pool facilities with family and friends once again. Please note that Kingfisher Cove’s operating hours are from Monday to Sunday, 8am to 8 pm.

Thank you for your patience and support during this period. We look forward to welcoming you and your family to Kingfisher Cove for plenty of fun in the sun.

Together, let us continue to work together to make Chinese Swimming Club our home away from home!

Fun pool reopening update

We are pleased to share that the Fun Pool is scheduled to reopen in the first quarter of 2026, barring any unforeseen delays.

We sincerely apologise for the delay and any inconvenience caused during the closure. The additional time was necessary to ensure that the facility is fully prepared and safe for everyone’s enjoyment.

We appreciate your patience and understanding, and we look forward to welcoming you and your family back for a splashing good time very soon.

Project progress update: upgrading of recreation complex (rc) & fun pool

As part of the Club’s ongoing commitment to keep members informed, we are pleased to share the latest updates on the upgrading works at the Recreation Complex (RC) and Fun Pool.

The RC passenger lift has been closed since 1 December to facilitate the installation of a brand-new lift, with completion expected by early 2Q 2026. In addition, scheduling for the installation of the wheelchair and platform lifts at the RC entrance is underway and is also targeted for completion by 2Q 2026. Meanwhile, works on the Fun Pool are progressing well and are on track to be completed by the first half of February 2026, barring unforeseen delays.

Redefined Spaces, Elevated Experiences

Once completed, the upgraded RC will welcome members into a world of refined comfort and contemporary elegance. Upon arrival, members will be greeted by a stylish lobby lounge, dressed in a sophisticated palette of matte copper, charcoal grey and black. It is complemented by a modern deli bar offering decadent patisserie and desserts. The space is ideal for unwinding after a long day or holding casual business meetings.

The new restaurant offers a thoughtfully curated fusion menu that delights the palate. A dedicated wine and whisky display, paired with live band performances, creates the perfect ambience for memorable evenings filled with rock, soul and classic favourites.

Moving to the second floor, members will discover a pillarless multi-function room, the first in Singapore social clubs to feature a dynamic LED floor that injects energy and excitement into any occasion. This versatile space caters to sports such as pickleball, as well as corporate events and celebrations.

The experience is complete on the third floor, with a family-friendly karaoke lounge featuring seven cosy private rooms and a quality sound system designed to make every celebration unforgettable.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we work towards delivering an enhanced club experience for all members.

Project progress update: upgrading of recreation complex & great bubble reef (fun pool)

As part of the Club’s commitment to regular member communications, we are pleased to update members on the ongoing upgrading works at the Recreation Complex and Great Bubble Reef (Fun Pool), following the $9 million enhancement project approved at the 109th AGM.

Recreation Complex (RC) Upgrading Works

The RC Alteration & Addition (A&A) works officially commenced on 18 June 2025 and will span a period of approximately 9 months. Since then, several major milestones have been achieved:

  • Mobilisation & Demolition: The contractor, YNY, took possession of Level 3 in mid-June, with hoarding and demolition works progressively carried out at the dance studio, former 3Bars, KTV rooms, and the Level 1 lobby.
  • Permit Clearances: Key regulatory approvals from BCA and LTA were secured to enable structural works, including those within the Railway Protection Zone.
  • Design and Safety Enhancements: The Management Committee approved the appointment of Somerville to supply and install new kitchen equipment at the upcoming restaurant. Additional safety upgrades, such as new emergency escape stairs and the reinstatement of cavity barriers to comply with SCDF fire regulations were also directed.
  • Work Coordination: We are actively monitoring progress through weekly progress meetings with consultants, including Spark and Bluetec. While some submissions (e.g., shop drawings) were delayed, YNY has responded to feedback to get back on schedule.

Great Bubble Reef (Fun Pool) Revamp

The contractor, Men’spool, has been appointed to undertake the upgrading, which will introduce:

  • A more vibrant and family-friendly poolscape
  • Enhanced aesthetics and new play features to elevate the recreational experience

The revamped Fun Pool is targeted to reopen by early January 2026, barring unforeseen delays.

What Members Can Expect

During this period, you may encounter noise, hoarding, and restricted access to certain areas within the Recreation Complex. The Club seeks your kind understanding and patience, as we continue this transformative journey to deliver a revitalised and more vibrant social and sporting environment.

We remain committed to minimising disruptions and will continue to keep you updated through regular communications.

If you have any questions about the upgrading works, please contact us at feedback@chineseswimmingclub.org.sg.

Thank you once again for your continued support.
